Face To Face

When you think of living a healthy lifestyle today, most of the things that come to mind involve practicing some sort of good habit. Things such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and even getting the proper amount of sleep. However, with the busy world we live in today, one thing we often forget to practice in regards to our bodies is healthy skin care. Although it may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of your well being, it is the FIRST thing people see when meeting you.

As a teenager, I suffered from mild acne throughout Middle School and some of High School, causing me to feel insecure in the skin I was in. If any of you reading this have suffered from the same problem, then you know the damaging effects it can have on your ego. After getting my skin under control in my later teenage years, I made a promise to myself that I would never go back to the days of bad skin. From that moment forward, I started taking better care of myself and focused on maintaining a healthy skin regime. As I entered into my twenties, practicing those healthy habits began paying off, allowing me the opportunity to model professionally, as well as be able to lend my face to various brands and businesses over the next 10 years. Each one of those opportunities taught me something very valuable along the way, leading me to become the best possible version of myself. However, my latest partnership has introduced me to a world of true skincare professionals. That partnership began this Summer as I stepped on board as the newest face of Artisan's Med Spa.

Unlike other Med Spas I've encountered, Artisan's specializes in improving your skins overall health from the inside out, utilizing the industries latest techniques and innovate procedures to ensure you that truly love the skin your in. Located in College Station, Texas, Spa Owners Dr. Ricardo Pocurull and his wife Jennifer Pocurull educated me on the importance of practicing healthy skin care and how the procedures offered at their Spa can keep your skin rejuvenated and youthful. Amazed by the technology and services they had to offer, I was eager to get the ball rolling on improving the condition of my skin. Although there seemed to be endless options available at Artisan, there was one particular service I was dying to try...the infamous Vampire Facelift.

Made popular by Kim Kardashian back in 2013, the PRP Vampire Facelift is the newest alternative to the original Vampire Facial. This innovative technique blends dermal fillers with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your bodies own blood, creating new and rejuvenated skin without surgery or downtime. Fascinated by this seemingly odd procedure, I was determined to find out if this blood sucking technique actually worked, so I went ahead with the procedure and crossed my fingers that I wouldn't come out looking like an actual vampire. Or if I did it would at least resemble Brad Pitt from 1994's Interview with a Vampire!

After about a week of mild bruising and some minor swelling, I began noticing a major difference in the appearance of my skin. The volume in my face had been restored and my skins texture had improved! I mean I wasn't a younger version of Mr. Pitt exactly, but the results got me back on the fast track to looking like my younger self again! (#Blessed) For those of you skeptical of getting this done...don't be! It was worth every blood sucking second ;-)
